A Mother’s Day Tea and Vintage Fashion Show to support youth programming and youth scholarships for Earlville Awesome House workshops will be held on Saturday, May 11 at the Earlville Opera House Arts Cafe from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This beautiful event starts with seating and service of tea and desserts to set the stage. The settings are lovely with each table displaying vintage china. Dode Page will be catering with the assistance of many volunteer bakers and hostesses. The desserts are to die for! Tea sandwiches and desserts in the themes of chocolate, orange, lemon and raspberry will be served with our special Mother’s Day Tea blend.
The Vintage fashion show begins at 2:30 with models wearing outfits from the ’50s to the ’80s. The fashion show will be costumed and directed by Dode Page of Black Cat Antiques, a vintage clothing and antiques shop in downtown Earlville. This year’s models include Cayla Wheeler, Liz Harris, Cindy Griffith, Taylor Ashton, Linda Demuro, Lisa Kenyon, Margaret Fetzko and Ellen Farney.
There will be a “Best Hat” Contest so design a hat for the tea or wear your favorite. There will be prizes for the funniest, most creative, most glamorous and prettiest. More prizes if you find a dime, nickel or penny under your place setting.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help EOH to fund its free programs for kids and families as well as youth scholarships to workshops.
Reservations are recommended. Advance ticket sales are available for $18 each ($16 for EOH members). Call 315-691-3550.
