Spinner Hill Farms brings Project Collage with Felting/ Open Felting Studio Workshop to EOH

Laying out the design in wool over a silk base, the process of felting is like simplified painting with wool. First timers are repeatedly impressed with the beauty of their first project.

Local fiber artist and shepherdess with over 30 years experience, Lisa Merian of Spinner Hill Farms returns to offer dual workshops “Project: Collage with Felting” for beginners and “Open Felting Studio Workshop” for advanced felting at the Earlville Opera House.  The workshops will be held from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 19.  This class will review various wet and dry felting techniques including instruction on needle felting techniques if desired.  Participants will design and create their own unique felted projects with layers of hand-dyed wool and other fibers from Spinner Hill Farms.

Experienced participants can create a project that expands on previous techniques learned. Three-dimensional projects are also possible.  All materials are provided.  Registration is $75 and includes $22 in materials.  If a larger project is desired, it may incur additional materials fees.  Bring a lunch.

Early registrations are encouraged so that the instructor can call you ahead to talk about your project.  To register, call the Earlville Opera House at (315) 691-3550.  For more information about upcoming events, visit the EOH website at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.  The Earlville Opera House is located on East Main Street, at NYS Route 12B.  For e-mailing questions try patti at earlvilleoperahouse.com.  Thanks!
