“Bluegrass Band of the Year” The Barefoot Movement 7/30

The Earlville Opera House is proud to present The Barefoot Movement, Saturday July 30th at 8 PM, sponsored by NBT Bank. Named “Band of the Year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association, their blending of Americana roots music features reimagined traditional songs and ballads alongside original material. The group has enjoyed almost non-stop touring including a trip to Burkina Faso, Africa where they were guests of the American Embassy.3c6e8381-5056-a852-6b7c5addea72612f

Though heralded by CMT Edge as “one of the most promising bands on the bluegrass scene,” the music of the Nashville based group The Barefoot Movement is more than the sum of its parts—a 21st century Appalachian string band, mixing country and folk, and even a little rock, into an Americana roots blend. Whether you’re seeking emotional ballads or rip-roaring barn-burners, you can expect a collection of music that offers something for everyone!

Crowding around a single microphone, their show is as fun to watch as it is to hear, and often begs the question, how has no one lost an eye from a collision with the fiddle bow? The smiles on the faces of the band are obvious displays of the joy and excitement they feel when performing and the audience shares in the fun. With effortlessly executed transitions, the pacing between the softer and more vigorous numbers constantly has fans on the edge of their seats.

The Barefoot Movement performs Saturday July 30th at 8:00 PM. Doors open at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $20 to the general public, $15 for members, and $10 for students and children (under 18). The Earlville Opera House is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift. For more information, call 315-691-3550 or visit www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.
