Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers presented as EOH Fundraiser

Gondoliers_shareEarlville Opera House and Moss Island Productions will present Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers at the Earlville Opera House Thursday, August 18 – Saturday, August 20 at 8:00 pm, and Sunday, August 21 at 3:00pm. This presentation is hosted as a fundraiser for the historic Earlville Opera House.

Two Venetian gondoliers are informed that one of them has just become king. Unfortunately, only one person knows which is the rightful heir to the throne! This witty, romantic and tuneful satire of class and politics is widely considered one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s finest comic operas.

Director Pat Stone has directed opera productions, opera scenes, and opera outreach programs for various New York City and regional opera companies across the country, including Central City Opera, Baltimore Opera, Tulsa Opera, Utah Opera, Chautauqua Opera, the National Opera Association, Inwood Opera, and Regina Opera.

Music Director Rusty Ritzel performs and directs throughout the Central New York area; his specialties include Music Education and Youth Arts. He graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia, Bachelor of Music Education, minor in Theater Production.

The libretto for The Gondoliers will be projected as supertitles above the stage, so you don’t miss a tongue-twisting word!
