Gifford Foundation Generously Supports EOH

The Earlville Opera House is grateful to acknowledge the tremendous support of the Gifford Foundation, which recently granted $5,000 to support the EOH’s purchase of new sound equipment.

The Earlville Opera House (EOH) was founded in 1970 as a not-for-profit, volunteer-based, community service organization promoting the arts in a rural region of central New York by offering programs of cultural, educational, and historical significance; and preserving and restoring the architectural and historic integrity of the Earlville Opera House, a unique second-story theater constructed in 1892.

In addition to the diverse programming on our main stage and our year-round art exhibitions, the EOH maintains strong ties with our community through outreach programming. For over 15 years, the EOH has partnered with the Village of Hamilton to offer a free weekly performance series on the Hamilton Village Green during the months of July and August.

This infusion of support from the Gifford Foundation will allow for the purchase of new sound equipment for this and further community outreach programming.

The Gifford Foundation was established in 1954 as a private foundation serving Syracuse and the surrounding Central New York community.  The Foundation supports individuals and organizations through grants and initiatives that build on community assets and promote positive change in the community.  For further information visit the website at http://www.giffordfoundation.org.

The Opera House is located at 18 East Main Street, in Earlville, NY. Gallery hours are 10-5 Tuesday-Friday and 12-3 on Saturdays.  Admission is free, and the EOH is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.  For more information, call 315-691-3550 or visit http://www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.  EOH events are made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and through the generosity of EOH members.
